Listen to the story of Jen the chicken and Chuck the duck and explore the concept of 'compare and contrast' with your Kindergarten students.

After letting them hear the story, you can use the questions below to check your students' comprehension.

1. How are Jen and Chuck the same?
2. How are Jen and Chuck different?
3. Why does Jen call for help?
4. What is Chuck good at?

Here comes Jen. Jen is a red hen. Cluck! Cluck!
Here comes Chuck. Chuck is a white duck. Quack! Quack!
Jen and Chuck live on the farm. Jen lives in the barn.
Chuck lives in the pond.
One day, Jen falls into the pond. Splash!
"Help! Help!" cries Jen. "I cannot swim."
"I can swim," Chuck says. Chuck swims fast. Chuck saves Jen. Yeah!
"Thank you, Chuck!" says Jen. "You are my best friend!"
"Quack! Quack!" says Chuck. "You are my best friend!"
